I stayed in Hiroshima for two nights and really enjoyed staying in this central hotel. This is another budget city hotel which was chosen due to the location of the hotel and its close proximity to the train station. I really liked this hotel even though I only stayed for a short time.
Location
Via Inn Hiroshima Shinkansenguchi has a great location around the corner from Hiroshima station, no more than a 5 minute walk along a flat path. The hotel is on a busy road but it is not noticeable from the rooms. The hotel has a coffee shop attached to the ground floor and two convenience stores across the road. Next to Hiroshima train station is an incredible store with numerous eateries inside (the cake shop was my favourite). The riverside is not too far from the hotel but it is not as walkable as the riverside next to the Peace Park. Numerous transport links are available in and around the train station, making it really easy to explore the city from the hotel.

The Room
My room was a rather compact single with everything I needed, except a wardrobe (I shall save that rant for later). The bed was up near a huge window with a lovely view of 7eleven across the street, a perfect view to plan what snacks I would have next. Although I was looking over the main road, my third floor room was really quiet and I slept soundly.

The room was equipped with a desk area, that I converted to a kitchen because snacks are life. Under the table was a mini fridge, a kettle and cups with free tea and coffee. I also had a safe and a big TV which randomly kept announcing the WIFI password and I really do not know why. The layout of the room was perfect for a single traveller because I was able to make breakfast in my room before going out exploring and I also had somewhere comfortable to sit (other than the bed).

I loved the USB charging points next to the bed, and the light switches which surrounded them. For once the light switches were simple for my photographer to use and I didn’t endure a nightly light show. The dimmer switch for the bedside lamp was really great because dinosaurs don’t like the dark and I was able to sleep with the light on.

The Bathroom
Once again I had the world’s tiniest bathtub paired with a highly intelligent toilet. I am slowly getting used to the small bathtubs, but I am rather short. However, my photographer required bath floaties and was unable to lie flat (without sinking to the bottom of the bath). The hotel provided all bathroom amenities that I required during my stay.

My favourite part of the stay was the English translations, I know its childish but every time I walked into the bathroom I came out with a huge smile. I found a deodorant for smells which are professionally anxious, though I am unsure why a smell would be anxious.

The steam from the bath in this hotel was also highly intelligent and knew how to ring a fire alarm. I will let the sign explain itself.

Facilities
The hotel has a lot of amenities for a budget three star rating. Komeda’s coffee shop is accessible via the ground floor of the hotel and provides a small number of breakfast options. The tenth floor of the hotel has a bright and spacious public bath which is really modern. There is also a micro bubble oxygen spring which is meant to have several health benefits. Sadly, I did not have enough time to visit the public baths during my stay but I’m sure it would have helped soothe my aching legs.
